Minister Jeff Radebe briefs media on National Planning Commission, 22 Apr

Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe, will host a media briefing with the National Planning Commission.

The purpose of the briefing is to share with the media the work and plans of the National Planning Commission (NPC) in executing their mandate. The NPC is appointed by the President and is made up of 26 individuals with expertise in various disciplines and sectors to provide independent and objective advice on the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) in government and society

The body is chaired by Minister Radebe with Professor Malegapuru Makgoba as the Deputy Chairperson and is supported by a full-time secretariat located in the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME)

The briefing is intended to provide an opportunity for the media to engage with the Commission with a view to gain deeper understanding of the role of the commission and the activities they have planned to undertake during their five year tenure which started in September 2016

The members of the National Planning Commission, led by Minister Radebe and Deputy Chairperson Professor Malegapuru Makgoba will be available for one on one engagement after the briefing.
