The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga can confirm that her office received the final draft of the “Jobs For Cash” report from the Ministerial Task Team chaired by Professor John Volmink late last week on Friday the 26th February 2016, and she had sight of the final report for the first time on Monday the 29th of February 2016.
The Minister will meet with the relevant stakeholders cited in the report; this includes Teacher Trade Unions and School Governing Body organisations to share the findings of the report. It is necessary to make the report available to the relevant stakeholders cited to avoid them seeing the findings for the first time in the media. The Minister will also share the report with the President before releasing it to the public and members of the media.
The Minister expects these processes will be finalised by mid-march. We will continue to keep the public and the media abreast of developments as they happen.
