Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi J. Zwane (MP) will on 26 February 2016, be at the Lily Gold Mine in Barberton to receive an update on rescue efforts, following an accident earlier this month which saw three workers, namely: Yvonne Mnisi, Pretty Mazibuko and Solomon Nyerende being trapped underground.
The Minister will also receive an update on humanitarian and social relief efforts provided since President Jacob Zuma assigned three Ministers to Barbeton to assist the families, workers and surrounding community.
The Minister will be accompanied by the department's acting DG, the Chief Inspectors of Mines, mine management and labour representatives.
