Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe, will be hosting a Back to School Imbizo in Kabokweni Mpumalanga Province.
The objective of the event is to motivate and encourage learners, especially those in matric to focus on their studies and emphasize the importance of education in uplifting our society.
Matric represents a milestone in the education of every child; it represents the culmination of 12 years of sweat, effort and perseverance. As they prepare for the 2016 class, it becomes important to advise, encourage and support learners in reaching this milestone with the knowledge that government is behind them and wishes them all the success in attaining their National Senior Certificates.
Local matric learners, parents, teachers and community leaders are expected to attend the Imbizo and to share their views with the Minister.
The Imbizo will be preceded by unannounced visits to several schools around the area. The visits will take place on Friday the 19th of February 2016.
