The Minister of Social Development will on Wednesday, 13 April 2016, receive at OR Tambo International Airport the three-year old boy repatriated from Mozambique.
The child has been living at a Mozambican prison because her mother was jailed for a drug trafficking related crime. As per his mother’s wishes; the child will be under the care of her extended family living in the Free State Province.
To date, the Department of Social Development has between 2005 and 2015 repatriated 18 children back to the country.
