Minister of Communications Faith Muthambi expresses confidence in the newly appointed ICASA councillors
Minister of Communications Ms Faith Muthambi has welcomed the appointment of Ms Botlenyana Mokhele, Mr Paris Mashile, Mr Peter Zimri, and Mr Keabetswe Modimoeng as the Councillors of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). Minister has expressed her confidence in their experience and abilities to steer ICASA towards achieving operational excellence as they begin their four year term this week.
“These Councillors are capable leaders. Their appointments come at a crucial time, when the industry is going through the technological innovative cycle. I believe that with their vast experience in the sector , they are the right people to guide ICASA and ensure that it fulfils its mandate, while also incorporating good governance,” said Muthambi.
These four Councillors were sworn in by Judge de Villiers on Thursday, 7 April 2016, at ICASA Offices in Sandton. The Council of ICASA will now consist of seven Councillors.
