The Minister for Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will brief the media on progress made by the Ministerial Task Team on Deductions (MTT) on curbing illegal, immoral and unauthorised deductions on social grants.
Tabling the Department’s Budget Vote in Parliament on May 4, Minister Dlamini said the department had published revised Regulations to the Social Assistance Act for public comment in February this year, aimed at dealing with deductions.
The department has considered all the comments and made some revisions to the Regulations which are now ready for publication. The media will be briefed on the amended regulations. Members of the media are invited to attend the briefing session, which will take place as follows.
