DBE and IDC launch the Whole School Development project with Wipro Technologies and Nelson Mandela Foundation

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga will tomorrow, Friday 10 March 2017 launch the Whole School Development project in partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and Adopt-a-School Foundation. The project is implemented in partnership with Wipro Technologies and Nelson Mandela Foundation at schools in Mpumalanga province.

The launch will take place at Mapaleni Primary School (Mkhuhlu) and later proceed to Makhosana Manzini High School (Shatale) where a new Administration block, a Computer Centre and a Laboratory will also be handed over as part of the Whole School Development Project.

The IDC has adopted 30 schools nationally to improve the quality of education in previously disadvantaged schools and three of the schools are located in the Mpumalanga province.  A whole school development programme is being implemented in the schools in partnership with Adopt-a-School Foundation.

The minister will be joined at the launch by the MEC of Education in Mpumalanga Mrs Reginah Mhaule including guests and officials from the IDC, SGB members, Nelson Mandela Foundation, Wipro Technologies, Edunova and AAS.
