MEC Vadi still considering representations on Nanduwe and Wata routes dispute

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Ismail Vadi has since received written responses and representations from affected and interested parties following his Notice of Intent to close all NANDUWE and WATA taxi ranks/routes in Soweto.

The notice was issued in terms of section 91 of the National Land Transport Act following the ongoing dispute and resulting violent conflicts between the two associations.

MEC is currently studying and considering representations from various quarters and will, in the next few days, announce his decision.

This means that all affected taxi ranks and routes will remain operational until such time a decision has been made.
