MEC Ishmael Kgetjepe invited King Ramabulana to matric examination countdown launch

The MEC for Education Ishmael Kgetjepe has invited Khosikhulu Vho-Toni Mphephu Ramabulana to Matric Examination count-down launch to take place in Vuwani. The campaign is aimed at encouraging different stakeholders including learners to work even harder in final preparations for the final examinations.

This Provincial event will be attended amongst others by traditional leaders, teacher unions, pastors, educators and political leaders. The department and the whole Province is ready for examinations. Recently, the Portfolio Committee on Education visited the Province and did general oversight task and also visited some examination centres and members were satisfied with the plans and readiness of learners including those in Vuwani who experiences some challenges following community protests. Umalusi, the examination controlling body also visited the Province.

Meanwhile, the examinations across the country start on the 24th October and the last papers will be written on the 29th November 2016. During the launch, districts task teams to assist under performing schools will be announce and the department will announce a plan for further assistance to the schools. These are the schools that were also assisted through the departmental strategy implemented throughout the year. The main aim of the teams is to give these schools “final push” towards the examinations. The Province is ready to produce improved quality results from the grade 12 class of 2016..
