Limpopo Provincial Government launch Youth Month Programme

Limpopo Provincial Government led by Premier, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha, in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) in Limpopo, officially launch the Limpopo Youth Month Programme.

This year marks the 41 anniversary since the Soweto uprising. Provincial Departments and Youth Units within various Provincial Municipalities will join in the launch. This year’s Youth Month will be celebrated under the theme: “The year of OR Tambo: Advancing Youth Economic Empowerment”

The launch will include a provincial career Expo targeting 2000 grade 12 learners from across schools in the province. The Provincial Government celebrates it every year in honour of the fallen heroes and heroines who formed part of the massacre on the 16th June1976.

The Soweto Uprising tragically ended up with a number of young people going into exile and some being killed when they protested against the imposition of Afrikaans as a medium of instruction. The main event will be preceded by the following build up events highlighted on the table below.
