Joint inter-departmental operation to tackle road safety
The Gauteng Departments of Transport and Community Safety in partnership with the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department, SAPS and Crime Intelligence will on Friday, 29 January 2016 conduct a ‘Joint Operation’ focusing on transport operations, general crime and by-law compliance at the Lenasia Taxi Rank.
The Joint Operation, which will be executed under Section 13/7 protocol and procedure, meaning cordoning off the Target Area or Target Point, will be conducted from 16h00 till 19h00.
The operation will include Public Transport Operations focusing on Vehicle Roadworthiness, Route/Permit Verification and illegal operations using illegal/fraudulent permits.
