North West Government embarks on Youth Entrepreneurship Services tour, 20 to 27 May

It’s all systems go for the Youth Entrepreneurship Services provincial action tour

The North West Provincial Government’s deliberate effort to expose young people to development opportunities will for the next five weeks be heightened through the rolling out of Youth Entrepreneurship Services (YES) Provincial Action Tour, which will be led by Premier Supra Mahumapelo, Members of the Executive Council (MECs) and Mayors.

Targeting all unemployed youth from across the province’s local municipalities, the month-long YES Provincial Action Tour is also geared towards encouraging young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, while at the same time affording government the opportunity to listen to challenges young people face on a daily basis.

This tour is viewed as a focused platform that seeks to connect unemployed young people of the North West Province with the public and private institutions, and expose them to entrepreneurship, employment, skills development and youth empowerment opportunities available in their respective sectors.

The rolling out of this initiative will be aligned to Setsokotsane activities that are currently being implemented in various local municipalities, and will serve as a build-up to the provincial Youth Day - June 16 commemoration, which will be held at Ramotshere-Moiloa Local Municipality on June 18.

“Subsequent to the engagements the Provincial Government will have with the youth during this tour, the Premier will sign an Accord with the youth on June 18, committing the Provincial Government to addressing issues raised during the Provincial Tour”, explains Brian Setswambung, the Acting Provincial Government spokesperson.

The tour starts this Friday, 20 May 2016 at Kagiso-Molopo, Moretele and Matlosana Local Municipalities where Setsokotsane activities will be implemented, followed by Mamusa, Lekwa-Teemane, Kgetleng, Moses Kotane and Tlokwe-Ventersdorp Local Municipalities on the 26th and 27th of May.

The youth tour will be taken to other Local Municipalities during the first two weeks of June.
