Public Works commemorates International Women’s Day at Nasrec, 8 Mar

Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi, MP, in partnership with Gauteng Premier David Makhura, cordially invites you to the commemoration of the International Women’s Day to be held from 8 March 2017 to 10 March 2017 at Nasrec, Johanneburg. 

The first International Women’s Day was commemorated in 1911 and it is celebrated annually on the 8th of March in an effort to honour and appreciate significant strides made under the flagship of International women’s movement.

On the day, 8 March 2017, Head of Property Management Trading Entity (PMTE) Paul Serote will, on behalf of Minister Nxesi, participate in panel discussions on Economic empowerment through infrastructure development. He will be articulating the mandate of the department of Public Works in infrastructure development.

The three day event, which is expected to benefit 4 000 women, will also incorporate an Economic Empowerment summit on 9 March 2017. It will end on 10 March 2017 with the hosting of a Women’s Expo. This year’s theme is “Be Bold For Change” and encourages government and the public to create condusive environment for women to thrive in all spheres of life.
