Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula attends International Security Conference in Moscow, 25 to 29 Apr

Minister of Defence and  Military Veterans, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will attend the Moscow Conference for International Security in Russia, from 25 –29 April 2016.

The  conference, which is the fifth instalment, seeks to provide a platform for discourse where international military departments, organisations and experts exchange ideas and prognoses on current global and regional security problems. The need for this exchange is informed by today’s new challenges, threats, a growing number of conflicts and terrorist activities. Conventional mechanisms and approaches seem to be falling short to grapple with these challenges; hence reforms and contemporary approaches are necessary.

Heads of Military Departments, international organisations, non-governmental experts and representatives of academic circles are traditionally invited to the Conference.

The Minister will also present a paper on current and developing security trends in Africa-an analysis of the security situation on the African continent and international ramifications during the conference.
