Inter-Ministerial Team meeting on Vuwani

The Inter-Ministerial task team responsible for stabilisation Programme in Vuwani met on 14th February 2017 at Makhado Municipality. The meeting was attended by amongst others, the Senior Traditional Leaders from Vuwani, the representative of the VhaVenda Kingdom, the Pro Makhado Task Team, the Inter-Ministerial Task Team lead by MEC Makoma Makhurupetja and the Pastors Forum. The following decisions were taken:

Submission to the Municipal Demarcation Board:

  • That the stakeholders in Vuwani will sign off their submissions to the Municipal Demarcation Board, today 15th February 2017. Then we will wait for response from the Board.
  • The suspension of services by Lim345:
  • That the Provincial Government can’t be a signatory to the disruptions of Services in Lim 345, and as a results offices keys have been handed to the Municipality (Lim345) whom after security assessment will take a decision on either keeping the offices closed or opening them for service delivery.
  • The meeting also resolved on the implementation of Section 78 which deals with a feasibility study to determine whether Lim345 Municipality have the capacity and the capabilities to render services in the Vuwani area. This was informed by the rejection of the new Municipality (Lim 345) by stakeholders in Vuwani.
