Independent Communications Authority hosts public education campaign in Hazyview, 24 Jun

ICASA engages with the community of Hazyview, Mpumalanga, for the Public Education Campaign

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) roadshows and public education campaigns to engage with communities and impart knowledge about services offered by the Authority in the country is heading to Hazyview, Mpumalanga Province.

The ICASA public education campaigns are aimed at driving key consumer protection messages with an emphasis on the rights of consumers in relation to their consumption of electronic communications, broadcasting and postal services.

“These campaigns put further emphasis on universal service and access to communication services, consumer protection and choice, licensing, complaints handling procedures as well as easy and simple ways to manage data costs when using smart electronic devices,” said ICASA Acting Chairperson, Rubben Mohlaloga.

The public education campaign team will be at Lowveld Mall, Hazyview, on 24 June 2017 from 10h00 to 16h00, and members of the communities from around Hazyview, Bushbuckridge, Nelspruit, etc, are invited to come and ask questions, learn about the services ICASA provides and know how to lodge complaints if they are not receiving value for their money especially from network providers.
