The Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba, will on Wednesday 29 June 2016 host the inaugural Naturalisation ceremony in Johannesburg.
At the ceremony, newly recognised citizens will swear their allegiance or affirmation to the Republic of South Africa and receive their Naturalisation certificates. Citizenship by Naturalisation is acquired when a person has been an authentic Permanent Resident Permit holder for a period of 10 years, and had applied for; and been accorded a certificate of Naturalisation by the Minister of Home Affairs.
