The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga will hand over a crèche facility at Siphe U’Culo Day Care Centre in Thubelisha, Extension 1, in Grootvlei, Mpumalanga Province on Friday, 29 July 2016.
The structure for the Day Care Centre was built by the agency of the Department of Transport, Road Accident Fund (RAF) in 2014. Prior to the intervention by the Deputy Minister and RAF, children were occupying a corrugated structure without proper sanitation facilities and fencing around the structure. This posed a number of health hazards to the children. The absence of fencing made children vulnerable to road accidents.
Ms Chikunga will also bring with her the services of RAF through the RAF-on-the-Road.
