MEC Alan Winde on Draft First Amendment Bill of Immigrations Regulations

The Ministry of Economic Opportunities has noted the publication of the Draft First Amendment Bill of the Immigration Regulations, 2014 under the Immigration Act.

I welcome this undertaking by Malusi Gigaba, Minister of Home Affairs to review the Act.

It is our goal to ensure that red tape is eased for people visiting South Africa legally.

At the same time, we also understand the need to address security concerns.

We will be studying the document closely.

I encourage all interested parties to comment on the draft amendments.

For queries on the legislation, kindly contact Adv Tsietsi Sebelemetja on 012 406 4271 or Zukiswa Adams on 012 406 2821.

The draft bill is available at the link below.
