Minister Nkosinathi Nhleko addresses Council for Built Environment inaugural Transformation Indaba, 29 Aug

The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) will host its inaugural Transformation Indaba on Tuesday, 29 August 2017 at the CSIR Conference Centre in Pretoria. The Indaba, which will be attended by Public Works Minister, the Honourable Nkosinathi Nhleko, is aimed at charting the way forward to address transformation in the built environment sector.

Under the theme, ‘empowering the Nation’, the Indaba will also be attended by key role players in the country’s built environment sector including, representatives from built environment professional councils and South African Women in Construction, government, private sector, industry and academia.

Issues to be tackled at the Transformation Indaba will include a review of current initiatives, the need for increased participation of the previously marginalised groups in the built environment and better cooperation between industry stakeholders. The Indaba deliberations will culminate in a Transformation in a Built Environment Declaration of Intent.
