Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks hands over wheelchairs to disabled persons in Uniondale, 30 Jan

Bringing relief to the destitute through Human Settlements Programmes

Human Settlements Deputy Minister, Zou Kota-Fredericks will handover wheelchairs to disabled persons in Uniondale, George Local Municipality.

The intervention follows a visit to the area by the Deputy Minister during her community engagement programme where she vowed to crack down on shoddy workmanship and irregular allocation of houses to beneficiaries within the Municipality.

She noted with concern issues raised by members of the community, especially the vulnerable, amongst them the elderly and people with disabilities in Uniondale and Thembalethu.

Through the office of the Deputy Minister, sister government departments and private sector stakeholders will be invited to the identified areas to work with the communities and find solutions to their problems.
