Bogus Facebook page
The office of the Minister of Public works, Minister TW Nxesi, would like to warn the public on social networks against fraudsters using his name to scam unsuspecting people.
The fraudsters have once again created a Facebook profile using the Minister’s name. They then target the Facebook friends and request money for a number of reasons including government projects.
Minister Nxesi does not have a Facebook page and his office is concerned that more members of the public will be defrauded by the unscrupulous people pretending to be him. Criminal cases have already been opened with the SAPS for investigation. While that process continues, people on social networks have been warned to be vigilant and to never accept requests done in the Minister’s name on any social network.
