Police hosts stakeholder engagement in Belhar, 8 Dec

Invitation to ministerial events: Bluedowns Cluster: 8th and 9th December 2016

On behalf of the Ministry of Police, the South African Police Service, Western Cape will be hosting a stakeholder engagement in Belhar on 8 December 2016, followed by the closure event of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children in Delft in the form an IMBIZO on 9 December 2016.

The stakeholder engagement will focus on an integrated approach to address various social crime prevention related concerns amongst youth, child protection, gender based violence, gangs and substance abuse. Stakeholders are invited from eleven identified cluster areas.

The stakeholder engagement will be preceded by a visit to the family of the late Ms Noluvo Swelindawo, who was brutally killed in an apparent hate crime attack.

Closure of 16 Days of Activism:

Venue: Hindle High School, Owen Madikane Street, DELFT, Western Cape Province               

The 16 Days of Activism Campaign this year focused on the priority areas that have been identified with high incidents of violence against Women and Children. The theme for this year is “Count Me In: Together Moving a Non Violent South Africa Forward”.

The closing event will be in the form of a Community Outreach Programme (IMBIZO). The Community Outreach Programme will be preceded by a walk-about in some of the crime hot spots in Delft.
