Invitation to a media briefing on the 3rd Presidential Local Government Summit 2017
The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Mr Des van Rooyen invites members of the media to a media briefing on the coming summit.
The summit is a platform wherein the President of the Republic will have engage with leadership of all three spheres (key national sector Ministers, Premiers, MEC’s, Mayors, Speakers, Chief whips and Municipal Managers) about the development outcomes, challenges and solutions to driving our developmental trajectory as country to higher levels as guided by the National Development Plan.
This time around, the President will be engaging with municipal leadership as they begin their five-year term journey, to discuss critical developmental outcomes citizens expect from this sphere that is closest to the people, and for the President to commit how National and Provincial Government will be supporting and working with municipalities to achieve these developmental outcomes.
