Members of the media are invited to attend and provide coverage at the departmental launch of Women s month, because all Stakeholders have come up with an operational plans which will marshal female officials towards one purpose of policing the roads. Road safety officers will be part of all operations communicating strategies in order to ensure that all road safety messages reach all stopped motorists.
A total no of 33 high impact road blocks manned by more than 233 women in uniform in all five districts will be hosted. Out of the total number of road block there will be 5 top provincial road blocks to be conducted in five districts (Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe and Waterberg).
The main themes to be covered in the road blocks include amongst others are the following: Driver and Vehicles fitness, documentations for passenger and freight public transport, Illegal bus / delivery vehicles, Seat belt, Drunk driving, Speed measuring and High-tech equipment (Mobile VTS) Mobile Weighbridges will be deployed during operations to clamp down overloading and Un-roadworthy vehicles.
