The portfolio committee on sport and recreation (National Assembly) invites interested individuals and organisations to submit written submissions on the Safety at Sport and Recreational Events bill (B7–2009).
The bill seeks to, among others:
* promote safety and protection of persons attending sports and recreational events and their property at the stadiums and other venues
* promote spectator-friendly, secure sports and recreational events and safeguard the country as a desirable destination for the hosting of major international sports and recreational events.
Public hearings are scheduled from 18 to 21 August 2009.
