President Jacob Zuma addresses Pan African Youth Union summit, 28 Nov

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is preparing to host the 2014 Pan African Youth Union (PYU) Congress which will gather 200 young people representing organs of state, academia, young entrepreneurs and civil society for a two-day Summit.

The PYU works at realising the ideals and strategies of the African Union (AU), including unity, peace, democracy, sustainable development and African integration. With the current President of the Pan African Youth (PYU) Union, NYDA Executive Chairperson, Yershen Pillay, South Africa has been tasked with convening this meeting.

The PYU has resolved to honor President Jacob Zuma with the PYU Peace Award aimed at recognising contributors from government, civil society, arts and culture who have acted as champions for peace on the African continent. This prestigious award will be bestowed upon President Jacob Zuma on 28 November 2014.
