Parliament to pay tribute to deceased members, 5 Feb

National Assembly mourns deceased members

The National Assembly will on Thursday, 5 February pay tribute to two of its
members who died at the weekend.
 
Johannes Schippers died tragically in a car accident on Saturday in the Western
Cape. He served in the parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Defence and the
Joint Budget Committee.

Ebrahim Cassim Saloojee, one of the longest serving Members of Parliament
(MP) died on Sunday at his home in Johannesburg after a long illness. At the
time of his death, Saloojee, who has been a member of parliament since 1994,
served on the portfolio committees on finance, and sports and recreation.
