Western Cape health facilities are not affected by the strike action

Public health facilities within the Western Cape have not been affected by today's strike action. Services continued uninterrupted. This morning's assessment showed zero (0) number of employees on strike. The Department continues with contingency plans, which include making use of agency staff should there be a need.

Western Cape Health Minister, Theuns Botha, expressed his appreciation to all employees in health services, who attended work, despite the pressure from unions.

Note: We have an afternoon assessment and those numbers should be available at 15:00.
