In support of “Take a girl Child to Work Day,” our department opened its doors to host a group of female students from the United Church School in Yeoville on 28 May 2009. Over twenty grade 10 to 12 learners were treated to a comprehensive tour of the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development’s various directorates and their functions.
They were granted a first hand experience on their areas of interest within the health profession and available careers. The learners’ day opened with an address by our Head of Department (HoD) Mrs Sybil Ngcobo and was completed by a discussion forum where our “future leaders” engaged the senior managers.
