The Governor of the South African Reserve Bank and executive members of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA) met today, Thursday, 18 June 2009, to discuss various issues relating to the monetary policy framework of South Africa.
The discussions were constructive and informative. The agenda was not exhausted due to time constraints and it was agreed that a further meeting will be held as soon as possible.
The meeting took place at the premises of the South African Reserve Bank in Pretoria.
