It has come to the attention of the Department of Higher Education and Training that four dubious Facebook accounts under Minister Blade Nzimande’s name have been created on the social media network.
The department wishes to put it on record that these accounts do not belong to the Minister and any content uploaded on these accounts should not be attributed to Minister Blade Nzimande.
The department consequently wishes to advise members of the public that any information that they need to acquire pertaining to Minister Nzimande’s public engagement activities through social media should be retrieved on the Department of Higher Education and Training’s Facebook and Twitter Pages. In the social media space, it is only the Department of Higher Education and Training’s Facebook and Twitter accounts that should be deemed genuine and any information emanating from these accounts can be attributed to the Minister.
The Minister is acutely aware of the pervasive and essential role of social media and is committed to engage with members of the public through these genuine and credible platforms.
