Stakeholder Lekgotla

The Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Minister Sicelo Shiceka, hosted a Stakeholder Lekgotla in Benoni from 19 to 21 June 2009, in order to debate the strategic relationship with stakeholders and to encourage the co-ordination of the role of CGTA. Inputs were received on the strategic priorities of associated institutions and stakeholders of CGTA.

Attendees included:
MEC’s, South African Local Government Association (SALGA), the Municipal Demarcation Board, Commission on Traditional Disputes and Claims, Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities, South African Cities Network, Development Bank of Southern Africa, South African Municipal Workers Union, Independent Municipal and Allied Workers Union, Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority, Institute for Municipal Finance Officers, South African Association of Consulting Engineers and the South African Planning Institution.
