The South African National Defence Force is saddened by the untimely death of one of its members, following the alleged suicide incident which occurred on Monday, 21 October 2013 at Katum Base, in Sudan.
Rifleman Richman Hlanganani Nxele from 1 Regiment Noord Transvaal was deployed in Sudan as part of the African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID).
Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, Chief of the SANDF, General Solly Shoke and Chief of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Derrick Mgwebi convey their heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased member.
