South Africa business delegation arrives in Nigeria for Outward Selling and Investment Mission

The South African business delegation has arrived in Nigeria to participate in the Outward Selling and Investment Mission organised by the Department of Trade and Industry (dti). The delegation is led by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe and will take part in the two-city mission which starts in Abuja today and will proceed to Lagos on Wednesday, 4 December 2013.

The delegation is comprised of business people from agro-processing, mining and capital equipment, engineering, chemicals, renewable energy and information and communication technology (ICT) sectors.

Deputy Minister Thabethe says Nigeria is considered as one of South Africa's most important trading partners on the African continent because of its strategic location, large population and natural resources. She urged the delegation to utilise the opportunity to their utmost best so that when they return home they will see the value of going to Nigeria to be exposed to the massive market.

The mission will kick-off with an investment and trade seminar, as well as business-to-business meetings which have been organised to allow the South African and Nigerian business people to meet and develop relationships, which could result in possible future collaboration. The South African business people will also get an opportunity to visit some of the business operational sites to see how Nigerians conduct their business.
