Public Service Commission urges public service unions and the employer to find a common ground on the wage negotiations

The Public Service Commission (PSC) as the custodian of good governance is deeply concerned about the ongoing public servants strike, which has entered its third week. Whilst public servants have the right to strike, the protracted nature of the strike is impacting negatively on service delivery. The reported incidents of intimidation, particularly in hospitals and schools, should also not be tolerated.

The future of our learners (especially matriculants) is being compromised, and the lives of many in our communities are being put at risk. The PSC therefore calls upon the negotiators to find a common ground to end the strike.
