Thirteen mini bus commuters died in a horror collision between a minibus taxi and a truck living two others seriously injured in an accident on the R716 near Heilbron in the Free State last night.

Another six people were killed when a speeding taxi’s tyre burst on the N14 near Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg yesterday morning.

“On behalf of the South African Government I would like to express our sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in these accidents. We urge all road users to be extra cautious and vigilant, particularly those entrusted with transporting passengers. We appeal also to our road traffic enforcement officers to enforce the road rules and regulations at all time,” said President Zuma.
