President Jacob Zuma sends condolences to the People’s Republic of China following deadly explosion

On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency President Jacob Zuma has conveyed a message of condolences to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China, following an explosion at a dockside warehouse in the coastal city of Tianjin, South of Beijing, on Wednesday, 12 August 2015, that claimed at least 50 lives with approximately 700 hospitalised.

“Our thoughts are with the people of China in the aftermath of the explosion that has struck the city of Tianjin. On behalf of the Government and people of South Africa, I send my deepest condolences to the Government of China, and to everyone affected, particularly to the families and friends of those killed and injured,” said President Zuma.
