President Jacob Zuma has declared a Special Provincial Official Funeral for revered liberation struggle stalwart Mr Reginald September. The Special Provincial funeral is reserved for distinguished persons as decided by the President of the Republic.
The President further instructed that the National Flag must be flown at half-mast in the Gauteng province on the day of the funeral.
Mr September passed away during last weekend. He played a significant role in transforming South Africa through a number of positions including being a trade unionist, member of Parliament, executive committee member of the African National Congress and South African Communist Party and leading the South African Coloured People's Organisation.
Further details of the funeral arrangements will be communicated by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
