President Jacob Zuma conveys condolences following plane crash in Islamabad, Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Jacob G Zuma today, Thursday, 29 July 2010, on behalf of the government and the people of South Africa, extended heart-felt condolences to President Asif Ali Zardari and the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan following a plane crash in Islamabad, in which all passengers on board died.

In this regard, President Zuma said: "Please accept, Your Excellency, our heartfelt condolences to the government and citizens of your country occasioned by the recent plane crash which saw your compatriots losing their most precious asset, lives.

"On behalf of the government and people of the Republic of South Africa, we reach out in thoughts and prayers to the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and in particular those families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy," concluded President Zuma.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation has been notified that there were no South African citizens involved.
