Following a report in the Sunday Tribune yesterday which links a suspect, arrested in connection with being possession of a firearm to Dr Zweli Mkhize, we wish to set the record straight.
The suspect Sizwe Mkhize has no relations with the premier and his family. He has never met Dr Mkhize. The allegations are untrue and bring the name of the premier and the office he occupies into disrepute.
We request the media to contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) with regards to this matter as the Office of the Premier has no capacity to deal with criminal matters.
