KwaZulu-Natal Premier inspects schools on first day of academic year
Premier Mr Senzo Mchunu today joined members of the KwaZulu-Natal Cabinet and the provincial Legislature in doing inspections at schools across the province on the first day of the academic year.
Mchunu said he was pleased to see that all schools he visited in the Eshowe area were functioning on the first day of schooling while reporting minimal glitches.
"This government has placed education at the top of our key priorities, with the aim of providing quality public education for all learners," said Mchunu.
During his visit to Hlakaniphani High School and Mpumaze Secondary School, Mchunu encouraged teachers to be committed to their profession and for learners to make good use of their time at school, saying teachers should be in class teaching and learners in class learning during school hours.
