Premier Modise conveys condolences as Gause bows out

North West Premier Thandi Modise is saddened by the untimely death of former Head of Protocol in the Office of the Premier Penyane Jacob Gause who died in hospital after a short period of illness over the past weekend. Gause who was on retirement is to be buried in Mahikeng on Saturday.

“We wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, relatives and public servants across all spheres of government who had worked with PJ throughout his illustrious working career in the public service. PJ as he was affectionately known had served me and all three predecessors, Popo Molefe, Edna Molema and Maureen Modiselle with loyalty, diligence and dedication. Mr. Protocol was an embodiment of Batho Pele and understood what it meant to be a servant of the people,” said Premier Modise.

The Premier said that Gause will always be remembered for his humbleness and the contribution that he has made towards establishing and maintaining an effective intergovernmental relations and stakeholder management.

Gause had recently served on the Confederation Cup, Inauguration of the President of South Africa,2010 FIFA World Cup and Confederation of African Football Cup Protocol teams.

His memorial service is to be held on Thursday afternoon at the Unibo Chapel at 14h00.He is to be buried in Mahikeng after a funeral service to be held on Saturday at Barolong Boo Ratshidi Community Hall as from 7h00.
