Premier Mahumapelo appeals to matric class of 2015 to make North West proud

North West Premier Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo has called on the matric class of 2015 to remain focused on the task at hand ahead of the start of their exams next week Monday.

"We are confident that the class of 2015 will do us proud and sustain the improvement in the results we have recorded in 2013 and 2014. We call on all learners to remain focused on the task at hand and ensure that they excel in the exams," said Mahumapelo.

Premier Mahumapelo said the provincial administration was serious about supporting learners who do well in their studies, citing the newly established Kgetsi ya Tsie Education and Skills Development Fund that is aimed at assisting learners who struggle to pay their tertiary tuition fees.

“We want to facilitate increased access to educational opportunities for the youth because we realise that education is crucial in anchoring the demands of a capable developmental state that South Africa seeks to emulate,” said Mahumapelo.

The matric examinations are scheduled to start next week Monday, 26 October 2015.
