Premier Chupu Mathabatha bids farewell to the Head of Department of Education

The Premier of Limpopo, Chupu Mathabatha has wished the outgoing Head of Department of Education Ms Ambani Beauty Mutheiwana all the best in her future endeavors and she serves her last day in the public service today. Ms Mutheiwana was seconded to the Department of Education from Department of Treasury as part of the rescue team to ensure that, the department performs to the maximum. At that time in 2015 the Education Department had almost collapsed as part of the other 6 Departments that were dysfunctional and therefore placed under administration. The Department has since improved significantly including getting out of disclaimers for the first time in 10 years.

‘On behalf of the Executive and people of Limpopo, I wish Ms Mutheiwana the best as she pursues other career paths. She served with distinction and it is through her efforts that the class of 2019 showed a significant improvement and for that we say thank you’ said Mathabatha. The Acting Head of Department will be Ms Khathutshelo Onicca Dederen from 1 February 2020 who has been with the department for many years. The advertisement for the position of HoD has been done and permanent appointment should be made within the next three months.
