Operation "Fiela/Reclaim" continues to sweep clean

Operation Fiela / Reclaim continues to sweep clean the streets of North West; this was evident in the operations conducted in Morokweng and Vryburg Clusters between 26 and 28 August 2015 wherein 15 suspects were arrested and issued with fines for various offences.

Out of these arrests, six were arrested for possession of Dagga, six for liquor related offences, two for assault common and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and one for intimidation. The operations concentrated on the policing areas of Ganyesa and Vryburg Police Stations.

The operation led to goods such as Dagga and liquor, including concoctions, being seized.

During the operations 12 undocumented persons were taken in for the processing and verification of their documents in Vryburg.

A total of 245 people, 26 vehicles and 46 premises were searched during the operations.

The suspects arrested for assault and intimidation are due to appear in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court today.

The operation was conducted by the South African Police Service together with other role players including Immigration Officials and traffic officials.

Operation “Fiela / Reclaim” will continue in various parts of the province to maintain order, stability and security.
