Operation Fiela early morning clean-up in Wesbank, Mfuleni
Operation Fiela, a multi-disciplinary operation led by the South African Police Service, swooped on Wesbank, Mfuleni, in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 2015-06-09). The focus of the operation included drugs, firearms, stolen goods and many other crimes trends that are troubling the community in that area. Police in cooperation with the SANDF, Traffic departments and Metro Police, conducted cordon and search as well as stop and search operations.
During the operations, the following successes were achieved:
- Three (3) suspects were detained on warrants of arrests (one domestic violence and two for contempt of court).
- Five (5) suspects aged between 22 and 41 years were arrested for possession of dagga and possession of Mandrax.
- Four dagga cigarettes and three and a half Mandrax tablets were confiscated.
The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrates' Court once they have been charged.
