Seven suspects arrested during Operation Fiela in Hanover Park
An early morning Operation Fiela was conducted in the gang affected area of Hanover Park this morning. During the operation 101 premises, 25 vehicles and 305 persons were searched resulting in seven arrests.
One female was arrested for being in possession of illegal ammunition and 15 x 9mm rounds, 38 x homemade rounds and an ammunition press were confiscated. One female was arrested for illegally possessing 23 x SASSA cards, 9 x bank cards and 6 x identity documents. Three males were arrested for the possession of drugs, one wanted suspect was arrested on a drug related charge and a female was arrested for the possession of housebreaking implements. A variety of drugs, namely dagga, heroin, tik and mandrax, were seized.
The suspects are due to make a court appearance once they have been charged.
