Police arrests drug mule at OR International Airport

Yesterday a 42 year old woman was arrested at the O R Tambo International Airport after she was found in possession of drugs.

The South African woman arrived from Sao Paulo on a South African Airways flight yesterday. Members from Customs and Excise conducted routine checks and discovered that the woman had concealed over 4 kilograms of drugs, believed to be cocaine, in books which were in her check-in luggage. The drugs are valued at over R1.2 million.

She will be charged with dealing in drugs and will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate court on Monday. In the meantime the drugs will be forensically tested to determine if it is indeed cocaine.
